Statistics and Data Science

Statistics and Data Science applies state-of-the-art statistical methods and develops innovative tools to deliver trustworthy data and analysis to guide critical programmatic, business, and policy decisions for NORC clients. In collaboration with NORC's research departments, we lead study design, data collection, analysis, and dissemination across project life cycles and also conduct our own research. We are a leader in designing and implementing rigorous, efficient sampling methods and weighting resultant survey data. Our statisticians and data scientists work with a broad range of statistical computing and programming languages and provide expertise on imputation, predictive modeling, data linkage and statistical matching for combining multiple data sources, survival analysis, small area estimation, data quality assessment, methods for statistical disclosure limitation and differential privacy, Bayesian analysis, machine learning, and simulation. We also develop workflows that enhance efficiency, replicability, and transparency in data gathering, data cleaning, analysis, and reporting of results via tables, visualizations, and dashboards.
