Nada Adibah

Research Scientist
Nada is a mixed‑methods researcher with experience in a variety of public health issues.

Nada specializes in quantitative instrument design and community‑based participatory approaches to engage diverse and hard‑to‑reach populations. She translates complex data into clear, actionable insights for programs, policies, and practitioners, with technical subject‑matter depth and experiences in drowning prevention, tobacco, health communications, and environmental health. Her methodological portfolio spans survey development, data collection oversight, analysis, and dissemination for both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Nada’s leadership includes managing NORC’s portfolio of drowning prevention projects, including an evaluation of the YMCA of the USA’s Safety Around Water program, instructional models, and communication tools to identify practical, community‑responsive improvements for populations at elevated drowning risk through a mixed-methods approach. She also serves as project manager for the AstraZeneca Foundation’s Creating Health Access for Next Generation Equity (CHANGE) program evaluation, supporting a community‑driven framework that centers local voices and advances health access in communities.

Nada has led survey design and analysis for a range of health communication and policy‑relevant projects, including Truth Initiative’s Smoke‑Free Screens project, a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation-funded project examining menthol cigarettes and social justice perspectives, and the American Red Cross’s Prepare with Pedro hurricane PSA evaluation. She also contributes to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Asian American Data Disaggregation project to improve visibility of Asian Americans in datasets and the Social Data Collaboratory’s Data Donation initiative advancing participant-driven data sharing.

Prior to joining NORC, Nada led public health research focused on tobacco use, risk perceptions, and harm‑reduction behaviors, contributing to peer‑reviewed publications and conference presentations. Earlier in her career, she also conducted environmental health research assessing personal exposure to traffic‑related air pollution, with findings published in Environmental Research, a rigorous peer‑reviewed journal.
