Kiran H. Correa

Research Scientist
Kiran studies health implementation science with a focus on qualitative research.

Kiran is a research scientist in NORC’s Health Sciences department. In this role, she conducts research and projects in a range of areas including clinical decision support, digital health, patient-centered outcomes research, quality improvement, and patient safety. She has experience in qualitative data collection and analysis, including literature reviews, interviews, focus groups, case studies, and observation, as well as mixed-methods research.

At NORC, Kiran supports research on advancing standards and regulations for patient-centered clinical decision support. Kiran has contributed to several reports on topics such as standards for representing patient preference information in clinical decision support, how to improve interoperability between patient apps and clinical health IT systems, and clinical decision support override reasons. For the AHRQ Safety Program for Telemedicine: Improving Antibiotic Use project, Kiran helped recruit practices nationwide for a patient safety program to improve antibiotic stewardship in telemedicine and facilitates implementation of the program. For the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation’s National Center of Excellence for Patient-Centered Outcomes Data project, Kiran supports numerous activities, from research to dissemination.

Prior to joining NORC, Kiran worked on international health policy, particularly health care financing, payment, and delivery, for clients such as the World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, Gates Foundation, and the Global Fund.
