Supporting innovative solutions to make health care more affordable and effective.

NORC’s applied health economics team helps federal agencies, states, foundations, health systems, and health plans evaluate policies, programs, and care models that affect health care spending, access, quality, and outcomes.

We evaluate alternative payment and care delivery models, Medicaid and Medicare demonstrations, behavioral health initiatives, rural health programs, public health interventions, and health care market trends affecting providers, payers, and consumers. Our work combines health economics, policy analysis, program evaluation, and advanced analytics to help decision makers understand what works, for whom, and at what cost.

Our team of economists delivers actionable evidence that informs policy and improves health system performance. We use claims, enrollment, provider, electronic health record (EHR), and survey data to evaluate program impacts, identify opportunities for improvement, and help decision makers understand the likely effects of future policy and investment choices.
