AmeriSpeak® Voter Surveys give researchers a stronger way to understand voter behavior, civic engagement, and democratic attitudes surrounding the 2026 election. By pairing your custom questions with rich, respondent level data from the NORC Civic Health & Elections Project, your research moves beyond isolated survey results to reveal how individual attitudes and behaviors fit within the broader civic landscape.
Election year research often forces a trade off: researchers can either ask custom questions of voters or rely on standardized civic measures—but rarely both, and rarely in a way that supports longitudinal, respondent level insight without significant cost and complexity.
AmeriSpeak Voter Surveys closes that gap.

A Better Way to Study Voters
Pre- and post-election surveys designed for researchers who need to understand how voters’ attitudes, experiences, and behaviors connect to broader civic engagement and democratic context.
How It Works
Choose the scope and structure that best fits your goals, whether it’s a short set of custom questions or a more comprehensive line of inquiry across waves.
Researchers can field as few as three custom questions directly to registered voters while automatically linking those responses to a robust, shared set of civic and election measures from the NORC Civic Health & Elections Project. Because all studies draw from respondents who complete the Civic Health & Elections Project survey, every dataset includes paired, respondent level civic data, without the burden of independent fielding or data integration.
Designed specifically for academic, public interest, and nonprofit research, AmeriSpeak Voter Surveys combine the analytical depth of custom studies with the efficiencies of shared survey waves, supporting rigorous, publishable election research even under constrained timelines and budgets.
AmeriSpeak Voter Surveys support multiple high‑quality study designs built on a shared civic data foundation.
- Pre‑election surveys field in October among registered voters
- Post‑election recontacts occur shortly after Election Day
- Responses are matched at the individual level for true longitudinal analysis
- All respondents are linked to NORC Civic Health & Elections Project measures
You'll get deep insight into voter opinion that no single survey can provide: the ability to situate individual responses within a richer civic, social, and democratic framework, to track meaningful change over time, and to do so with the highest quality survey data at cost-efficient prices.
Flexible Design Options
Researchers can engage the electorate through multiple design options while drawing from the same civic data foundation:
- 3 to 50+ custom questions (expanded capacities available)
- Sample sizes ranging from 1,000 to 5,000 registered voters
- Pre‑election, post‑election, or matched pre/post designs
- Longitudinal research opportunities following the same respondents over the coming months or years
- Optional oversamples or analytic subsamples, pending feasibility
This structure pairs the flexibility of custom research with the multi‑sponsor efficiencies that reduce per‑case costs.
Cost‑Efficient & High‑Impact
Because AmeriSpeak Voter Surveys are fielded through shared survey waves:
- Costs are significantly lower than commissioning standalone pre-/post-election studies
- Researchers gain access to robust civic and election measures without independent fielding
- Multi‑sponsor efficiencies support larger samples and stronger analytical power
The result is a rich, methodologically rigorous dataset that supports high‑impact research—even under constrained budgets.
Designed for Academic & Public Interest Research
AmeriSpeak Voter Surveys are designed for academic researchers, nonprofit and public interest organizations, foundations, and policy teams conducting rigorous election research. The approach supports publication quality analysis, longitudinal insight, and research intended to inform policy, civic practice, and public understanding.

Sample & Methodology
AmeriSpeak Voter Surveys provides a nationally representative snapshot of U.S. registered voters, sourced directly from the AmeriSpeak panel.
AmeriSpeak households are selected randomly through NORC’s National Sample Frame, known for its industry-leading coverage. This frame encompasses over 97% of U.S. households, ensuring that all segments are well represented.
AmeriSpeak goes the extra mile in recruitment, using a combination of U.S. mail notifications, NORC telephone interviewers, and in-person field staff. Thanks to this robust process, AmeriSpeak boasts the highest response rates of any multi-client research panel, offering unmatched reliability and depth in survey results.

Deliverables
All AmeriSpeak Voter Surveys include a respondent level data file (Excel/CSV, SPSS, STATA, R, or SAS), including:
- Survey weights
- Standard AmeriSpeak profile variables
- Paired civic and election measures from the NORC Civic Health & Elections Project
- Additonal profile data: party ID, ideology, whether they plan to vote/voted or not, 2026 House of Representatives vote choice, 2024 presidential vote choice, 2024 and 2026 validated vote
These standard deliverables ensure that all studies include both custom survey data and a shared civic context without additional fielding.

Methodology
Sampling frame: AmeriSpeak uses random stratified samples based on the NORC National Frame, which is an enriched USPS Delivery Sequence File that covers nearly 98% of all U.S. households. Sample is limited to panelists who reported being registered to vote at their current address.
Response rates: Thanks to AmeriSpeak’s in-person recruiting design, response rates are four times higher than any other probability panel in the United States and provide the scientific rigor, validity, and reliability that nonprobability cannot.
Weighting: Samples will be weighted to projected registered voter demographics, after an initial base weighting procedure to ensure equal probability of selection and nonresponse adjustments to ensure a highly valid final weighted sample.
Recruiting and verification procedures: While concerns abound regarding verification and fraud prevention in nonprobability panels, AmeriSpeak is based on random samples of known addresses. Thanks to our multimode recruiting and interviewing design, we have talked to or met the vast majority of our panelists. More information is available in our technical overview.
Panel characteristics: Again, thanks to our in-person recruiting, AmeriSpeak has robust representation in many hard-to-reach populations, such as those with lower incomes, those with lower levels of educational attainment, and young respondents.
