Press Release

For Media Inquiries:

CHICAGO, November 28, 2023 — NORC at the University of Chicago is proud to announce that senior fellow Margaret Hargreaves has been appointed to serve on the American Evaluation Association (AEA)’s Evaluation Policy Task Force. Chaired by Data Foundation president Nick Hart, the task force focuses on federal evaluation policy efforts that have broad implications inside and outside the United States.

The AEA is a professional association of evaluators devoted to applying and exploring evaluation as a profession. Current members of the task force include former AEA presidents Melvin Mark and Kathryn Newcomer and Urban Institute fellow Demetra Nightingale.

Hargreaves, a senior fellow with NORC’s Health Care Evaluation department and affiliate staff with NORC’s Center on Equity Research, is recognized for her expertise in evaluating equitable systems change initiatives that address complex social issues, including the prevention, mitigation, and treatment of child abuse; racial and ethnic disparities in health care; place-based population change initiatives; early childhood education and juvenile justice system reforms; and climate change adaptation and mitigation.

Hargreaves has served as program chair of the Systems in Evaluation Topical Interest Group at the AEA and is a past recipient of the AEA’s Marcia Guttentag Promising New Evaluator Award.

We congratulate Hargreaves on this appointment.
