2026 Pacific Chapter of American Association for Public Opinion Research (PAPOR) Annual Conference
August 20-21 • San Francisco, CA
NORC’s AmeriSpeak® is a proud Benefactor Sponsor of the 2026 PAPOR Annual Conference!
AmeriSpeak is a probability-based panel that uses in-person recruiting with random sampling to reach hard-to-reach groups. Researchers can field omnibus surveys, fully custom studies, or targeted samples by age, ethnicity, geographic area, and more.
These features help ensure that public opinion and survey research professionals generate findings that reflect a broad and accurate view of the American public.
NORC has a longstanding connection to PAPOR, with experts contributing through leadership, research, and conference participation. Connect with us at PAPOR to learn more about our work.

NORC Presentation at PAPOR
Short Course: Practical Approaches to Building Strong, Empowered Teams
- Presenter: Anna Wiencrot, Senior Research Director, Health Sciences
- Thursday, August 20 | 10:00 – 11:30 am PT
Team success depends on more than technical expertise. Bringing together a group of talented people is one thing; helping them work effectively together is another. Whether leading a research study, a client engagement, or an internal initiative, managers and team leads need to set expectations, align priorities, and address challenges throughout a project's lifecycle.
In this course, participants will follow a team leader as she forms a new team, establishes norms, goals, and ways of working, and responds to challenges as they emerge. Using this case-based scenario, we'll explore how to set clear expectations, establish team norms, and create an environment that supports collaboration, accountability, and open communication.
The second half of the course focuses on what happens when things don't go according to plan. Participants will examine common team challenges, such as underperformance and communication breakdowns, and discuss ways to address them through feedback, problem-solving, and accountability. Throughout the session, the focus is on practical ideas and techniques that participants can adapt to build stronger teams in a variety of work environments.
Session 2: Public Opinion, Health, Identity, and Social Change
- Moderator: Jennifer Benz, Senior Vice President, Public Affairs & Media Research; PAPOR Vice President & President-Elect
- Thursday, August 20 | 2:30 - 4:15 pm PT
