Minya Sheng
Minya leverages health care claims data to drive insights for government and private clients.
Minya is a senior data scientist supporting data analytics and policy research using health care claims and administrative data for government and state agencies and private sector clients.
At NORC, Minya is a core member supporting data processing and data analytics for Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project (HCUP) for the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). She supports data management for Health Care Cost Institute (HCCI) and Maine Health Data Organization (MHDO) using the NORD Data Enclave. She organized and performed analyses with all-payer claims databases (APCDs) in several states NORC works with, including California and Vermont. She also supported reports for Physician-Focused Payment Model Technical Advisory Committee (PTAC) for the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation (ASPE). She did programmer review on performance measures for Pennsylvania’s Rural Health Global Budget Model.
Prior to NORC, Minya worked on HCUP for over 14 years supporting AHRQ. She also supported an Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA) project for performance measurement. She worked on commercial MarketScan data and Medicare and Medicaid data supporting government clients and private sectors.
