Liz specializes in data processing, workflow optimization, and analytics for large-scale surveys and data systems.

Liz is a senior data scientist in NORC’s Health Care Programs department. She brings over a decade of research experience, with a strong background in data management, programming, statistical analysis, and survey methodology,

Liz provides leadership on complex data workflows, introducing automation and efficiencies that improve accuracy and timeliness. She has expertise in streamlining data cleaning pipelines, improving quality assurance, and integrating diverse data sources to enhance analysis and data products. Her work combines deep technical knowledge with strategic thinking to meet client needs and produce meaningful results for stakeholders in the federal health space and beyond.

Liz currently manages analytic workflows for the Medicare Current Beneficiary Survey (MCBS), a national longitudinal survey of Medicare beneficiaries. She oversees editing and delivery of dozens of data products each year and has introduced process innovations that accelerate data availability. She also plays key roles in state-level data processing for the Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project (HCUP) developing uniform hospital discharge databases, and on NORC’s analysis of claims data for the California Health Care Foundation, examining access to and affordability of novel diabetes medications. She previously worked within The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, supporting all aspects of the research lifecycle.

Before joining NORC as an intern in 2015, Liz contributed to the Eagleton Center for Public Interest Polling, where she developed weighting methodologies and curated survey data archives. She also served as a Joint Program in Survey Methodology intern at the U.S. Census Bureau.
