Bradley Rentz

Principal Research Scientist
Bradley is a principal research scientist specializing in advanced quantitative methods and applied research in the Pacific region.

Bradley brings over a decade of experience designing and leading applied research and evaluation projects across the Pacific region on a variety of topics. As a trained sociolinguist, Bradley also has a passion for supporting Indigenous language education programs and policies. At NORC, he is the applied research lead for the Department of Education’s Institute of Education Sciences funded Regional Educational Laboratory (REL) Pacific and the Department of Education funded Pacific West Comprehensive Center’s Federated States of Micronesia lead. In those roles, Bradley provides education policymakers and practitioners with actionable research evidence and technical support to further their policy and practice goals to improve educational outcomes for their students.

Bradley’s recent contributions include federally funded applied research studies on teacher certification in the Republic of Palau; college and career readiness of public high school graduates on Pohnpei in Federated States of Micronesia, Republic of Palau, and in the Republic of the Marshall Islands; social-emotional learning outcomes for students in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands; and predictors of passing the Praxis Core examination for teacher candidates on Guåhan (Guam). He has also led the development of locally-centered instructional models across the Federated States of Micronesia and a dual language education policy to enhance the use of the Kosraean language in Kosrae’s K-12 schools.

Before joining NORC, Bradley served as an institutional analyst in the accountability section of Ka ʻOihana Hoʻoʻnaʻauao o ke Aupuni Hawaiʻi (Hawaiʻi State Department of Education) and as a senior researcher at McREL International where he was the applied research lead for the REL Pacific and led a variety of other evaluation and technical assistance projects. He has authored over 15 peer-reviewed journal articles and technical reports.
