The Minnesota COVID-19 Antibody Study

The University of Minnestora Covid Serology Study, carried out by NORC on behalf of the University of Minnesota's School of Public Health and with funding from the Minnesota Department of Health, will measure exposure to SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, in a general population sample of Minnesota residents.

Using Minnesota respondents from the Data Foundation's COVID-19 Household Impact Study who have agreed to be re-contacted, NORC will re-contact respondents and invite them to receive a capillary blood collection kit and instructions to self-collect and return a blood sample taken via finger prick. The kit will be sent to a partner lab and analyzed for SARS-CoV-2 antibodies. Respondents who agree to participate and return a sample will receive a gift card incentive as well as the results to their SARS-CoV-2 antibody test.

Respondents will self-collect their own blood sample and samples will be analyzed for antibodies to the SARS-COV-2 virus.

Results will be de-identified, weighted, and delivered to Principle Investigator Timothy Beebe and used to examine the degree of exposure to COVID-19 in Minnesota.
