Weihuang Wong

Weihuang Wong is a senior data scientist in the Center for Excellence in Survey Research, where he applies data analytics, text analytics, and causal inference methods to research in the health and education sectors.

For the National Survey of Early Care and Education, Wong has contributed to complex survey frame development, data imputation, and the design of robust pipelines for data production. For the College Board, Wong leads a team that maintains and enhances the reporting platform for the Admitted Class Evaluation Service™. As part of a project for the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, Wong is investigating the use of deep learning methods to generate synthetic data for health research.

Wong earned his PhD in Political Science from MIT, where he researched the politics of housing using quantitative methods. His academic research has been published in Business Groups in the West (OUP, 2018) and presented at annual conferences of the Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management, American Political Science Association, Midwest Political Science Association, and the International Political Economy Society. Prior to MIT, Wong was a portfolio manager at GIC Private Limited, one of Singapore’s sovereign wealth funds.
