NORC Data Enclave Gov Earns FedRAMP® Certification, Expanding Secure Research Capabilities

CHICAGO, September 9, 2026 — NORC at the University of Chicago announced today that its Data Enclave Gov platform has earned Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP®) Moderate certification, a milestone that expands NORC’s ability to deliver compliant cloud technology to government agencies and research partners. The achievement represents NORC’s first FedRAMP-certified product and places the Data Enclave Gov among a select group of research platforms to earn the certification.

The NORC Data Enclave® Gov is a data management platform that enables agencies to share sensitive data with approved research communities in support of evidence-based discovery. In addition to secure data access and support services, the platform provides researchers with a user-centric virtual workspace and analytical, statistical, visualization, database, and reporting tools.
FedRAMP is the government’s standardized approach to security assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring of cloud products and services. The Data Enclave Gov is listed on the FedRAMP Marketplace, the directory that agencies use to find, evaluate, and acquire pre-vetted cloud solutions.
