NORC Principal Statistician Stas Kolenikov Wins ASA Fellow Award

CHICAGO, August 25, 2022 – NORC at the University of Chicago is pleased to announce that Stas Kolenikov has won a 2021 American Statistical Association (ASA) Fellow Award.This honor recognizes recipients’ outstanding contributions to statistical science. ASA celebrated its 2021 fellows at the 2022 Joint Statistical Meetings this month in Washington, D.C.

The ASA elects up to one-third of one percent of the total association membership as fellows each year. To be selected, nominees must have an established reputation through their publication record and service to the profession. Kolenikov was nominated by David Banks of Duke University.

Kolenikov is a principal statistician in NORC’s Statistics & Data Science department, where he has worked on sampling designs, weighting protocols, imputation schemes, small area estimation, analysis of non-sampling error, and mode effect analysis. He can provide statistical support to any survey task.
