General Social Survey Awarded NYAAPOR's Harry O'Neill Award

​New York City, June 5, 2019 - NORC at the University of Chicago is honored to announce that we are the recipients of The New York Chapter of the American Association for Public Opinion Research's (NYAAPOR) Harry O'Neill Award for the General Social Survey (GSS). The GSS is NORC’s longest running project, one of the most frequently analyzed sources of information in the social sciences. Tom W. Smith, who accepted the award on behalf of the NORC, has served as the Director of the GSS for the past 39 years.
