Strengthening Public Health Services & Systems in Indian Country: Technical Assistance for Recipients
Overview
In 2024, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) launched the second year of a five-year cooperative agreement—CDC-RFA-TO-23-0001—for eligible American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) federally recognized Tribal governments (i.e., Tribes) and regional tribally designated organizations. The purpose of this program is to strengthen the quality, performance, and infrastructure of tribal public health systems, including workforce, data and information systems, and programs and services. The goal is to improve public health outcomes in Indian Country.
The CDC has entered into a cooperative agreement with NORC at the University of Chicago to provide Indigenous Evaluation Capacity Building and Recipient Coordination & Partnership Support for the 23-0001 recipients. NORC partners with Seven Directions at the University of Washington to carry out this work in a culturally competent, indigenous framework.
