Rebecca Shore Catterson is a senior research scientist in the Health Care Department at NORC. Catterson has more than a decade of health policy research experience focusing on Medicare and Medicaid, public reporting of health care quality data, health information technology (IT), end-of-life care and medical ethics.
Catterson has conducted qualitative research on behalf of federal government agencies, not-for-profit and consumer organizations, academic researchers, foundations, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and professional associations. These research activities have included focus groups, structured interviews, site visits and usability testing with a focus on the general population, individuals with chronic conditions and disabilities, elderly and low-income populations, health-care providers, state and local government officials, subject matter experts, and other key policy-makers. Among her ongoing projects at NORC, Catterson is serving as the Project Manager of the contract to Align Quality and Public Reporting Programs for Physicians and Other Practitioners for the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Center for Clinical Standards and Quality. Additionally she manages a CMS Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services contract to support the implementation of changes to the Home and Community-Based Services program.
