Benjamin Linkow is a Senior Research Scientist in the International Programs
Division at NORC at the University of Chicago. An applied development
microeconomist, Dr. Linkow's expertise includes the application of
advanced econometric techniques to data collected in developing country
contexts. Linkow also has extensive experience in the area of land
tenure and property rights in sub-Saharan African countries.
His previous and current research topics include the economic impacts of insecure land rights in Burkina Faso, gender and land inheritance in Kenya, and illegal diamond mining in Western Liberia; in addition he has worked on a variety of research and other development projects in Namibia, Mali, Ghana, Tanzania, Zambia, Ethiopia, Rwanda and Georgia. At NORC, Dr. Linkow is leading ongoing impact evaluations of MCC's land tenure program in Namibia as well as agriculture and youth empowerment projects in Kenya.
