Over the years, Greg has consulted for numerous nonprofit and government  organizations including The Chicago Community Trust, The Field Museum, the U.S. Department of Commerce, The World Bank Group,  and The Aspen Institute. Edward O. Laumann is the Chairman of NORC's Board of Trustees and the Director of NORC's Ogburn-Stouffer Center for the Study of Social Organizations, which undertakes research on topics in population, education, and social structure. He is one of the nation's leading authorities on the sociology of sexuality. Additionally, Laumann is a co-Prinicipal Investigator on the National Social Life, Health, and Aging Project (NSHAP), based on a nationally representative sample of adults aged 57 to 85, which is focused on aging, health, and sexuality.His expertise includes research into the spread of sexually transmitted infections via sexual networks, subjective well-being, quality of life, and social networks in various social contexts.

Bergman Distinguished Service Professor, Harris School of Public Policy Studies, University of Chicago, and Research Associate, National Bureau of Economic Research. His research focuses on a range of subjects in the broad area of applied microeconomics. Recently, Charles has studied the degree to which prejudice can account for wages and employment differences by race and gender.  In his ongoing work, Charles is studying the connection between economic outcomes and various aspects of voting behavior.

NORC Trustee Harry L. Davis is the Roger L. and Rachel M. Goetz Distinguished Service Professor of Creative Management at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Mr. Davis studies  leadership, strategy, creativity and innovation.  His scholarly research has appeared in a number of top-tier academic journals including the Journal of Consumer Research and the Journal of Marketing. Davis has introduced many innovative executive education programs in the United States and abroad.  These programs include the first core leadership program of any top-rated MBA program in the country, and the Management Lab.

NORC Trustee Robert Gertner is a Joel F. Gemunder Professor of Strategy and Finance and Deputy Dean for the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Gertner has been on the Chicago Booth faculty since 1986. His research interests include strategic decision-making, corporate finance, organization structure, theory of the firm, and social enterprises. He has published papers in numerous scholarly journals including the Quarterly Journal of Economics, Review of Economic Studies, and the Yale Law Journal. He is co-author, with colleagues Douglas Baird and Randy Picker, of Game Theory and the Law. Gertner teaches courses in strategic decision-making, entrepreneurial strategy, and social entrepreneurship. He is also a board member of the Interfaith Youth Core, a member of the Evaluation Advisory Council of the Chicago Public Education Fund and the Faculty Council of the Center for Financial Inclusion at Accion International.

NORC Trustee Mary Louise Gorno is Managing Director, Hudson Highland Group, Inc., leading the global recruitment of senior level executives including CEOs and Board of Directors.  Mary Lou joined the search profession with more than 20 years of experience in marketing, communications, and strategic consulting.  She was previously Global Account Director of Leo Burnett Company Inc., assuming business-building responsibility for Reebok Inc., Walt Disney Company, and the Proctor & Gamble Company.   Mary Lou serves on the University of Chicago’s Board of Trustees and is a member of the Executive Committee.   In the broader community, Mary Lou is a trustee of The Chicago Symphony Orchestra, The Mather Foundation, the Chicago Humanities Festival, and she serves as a Director at The American Envelope Company.

NORC Trustee John Mark Hansen is the Charles L. Hutchinson Distinguished Service Professor, Department of Political Science and the College at the University of Chicago. Hansen, whose research has focused on interest groups, citizen activism and public opinion, is the author of two books, Mobilization, Participation and Democracy in America (1993) with Steven Rosenstone and Gaining Access: Congress and the Farm Lobby, 1919-1981 (1991). In 1999, he received the Heinz Eulau Award from the American Political Science Association for the Best Article Published in the American Political Science Review in 1998. In 2003, he was elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. His current research focuses on public opinion, public budgeting and politicians' inferences from the outcomes of elections.

​Eric D. Isaacs is Provost of The University of Chicago. Isaacs is a national advocate for basic research and director of Argonne National Laborator. Isaacs has been director of the Argonne National Laboratory since 2009. During that period he has played key roles in the creation of the Institute for Molecular Engineering and expanding the impact of the Computation Institute. Prior to arriving in Chicago, Isaacs worked for 15 years at Bell Laboratories, including terms as director of Semiconductor Physics Research and Materials Physics Research. As provost, he is the University’s chief academic officer, overseeing 13 academic divisions, schools and institutes with faculty appointive powers. saacs is the chair of the National Laboratories Directors Council, the chair of the Illinois Science and Technology Council, and a board member for many organizations, including the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, Mass., which recently affiliated with the University. Isaacs earned his PhD in physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his bachelor’s degree from Beloit College.

Madara serves as executive vice president and chief executive officer of the American Medical Association (AMA), the nation’s largest physician organization.  An accomplished academic medical center physician, medical scientist and administrator, Dr. Madara, prior to joining the AMA, served as Timmie Professor and chair of pathology and laboratory medicine at the Emory University School of Medicine before assuming the Thompson Distinguished Service Professorship and deanship at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine.

NORC Trustee Walter E. Massey is President, The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He is also the President Emeritus of Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. Immediately prior to that post, Dr. Massey was Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs of the University of California system.  Additional credentials to Dr. Massey's distinguished career in academics include serving as Professor of Physics and Dean of the College at Brown University and a Professorship at the University of Chicago. A prominent physicist, Dr. Massey served as Director of the Argonne National Laboratory from 1979 to 1984, and as Director of the National Science Foundation from 1991 to 1993, appointed by former President George H.W. Bush. Much of his research has involved quantum liquids and solids, while his written work discusses university industry partnerships and the issue of technology transfer.

NORC Trustee Ralph W. Muller is the chief executive officer, University of Pennsylvania Health System. He was, from 1985 to 2001, the President and CEO of the University of Chicago Hospitals.  Muller is a Director of the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) and a Commissioner on the Joint Commission (TJC).  He served as Commissioner on the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC), Chairman of the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), Chairman of the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH), Chairman of the National Opinion Research Council (NORC), and Chairman of the University Healthsystem Consortium (UHC).  He is member of the Institute of Medicine (IOM) and a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).

Crane Distinguished Service Professor and Dean of the Division of the Biological Sciences and the Pritzker School of Medicine at the University of Chicago. He is also Executive Vice President for Medical Affairs at the University of Chicago. A prominent diabetes researcher, physician, and educator, Polonskyis a member, of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies, one of the highest honors medical scientists in the United States can receive. Polonsky has won multiple awards, including the Young Investigator Award from the American Federation of Clinical Research in 1993, the Outstanding Scientific Achievement Award of the American Diabetes Association in 1994, and a highly selective National Institutes of Health MERIT Award in 1997. In 2007, he was named director of the five-year, $50 million NIH-funded Institute of Clinical and Translational Sciences at Washington University.

NORC Trustee Kenneth Prewitt is Vice President for Global Centers and Carnegie Professor of Public Affairs at Columbia University.In addition to teaching for many years at the University of Chicago he has served as the Director of the United States Census Bureau, Director of NORC, President of the Social Science Research Council, and Senior Vice President of the Rockefeller Foundation. Among his awards are a Guggenheim Fellowship, honorary degrees from Carnegie Mellon and Southern Methodist University, a Distinguished Service Award from the New School for Social Research, the Officer's Cross of the Order of Merit from the Federal Republic of Germany, the Charles E. Merriam Lifetime Career Award, American Political Science Association and a Lifetime National Associate of the NRC/NAS.

NORC Trustee Judith M. Tanur is Distinguished Teaching Professor Emerita, Department of Sociology, at Stony Brook University. She is a Fellow of the American Statistical Association and American Association for the Advancement of Science, an elected member of International Statistical Institute, and recipient of ASA’s Founders’ Award. Tanur was a member of the Committee on National Statistics of the National Research Council, chairing its Advanced Research Seminar on Cognitive Aspects of Survey Methodology.  She also was an ASA/NSF/BLS Senior Research Fellow and served on the ASA Advisory Committee for SIPP, as well as NSF Panels and visiting committees. Tanur has served on the Advisory Committee to the NSF Director for SBE and the Board of Directors of SSRC.

NORC Trustee Gail Wilensky is an economist and senior fellow at Project HOPE, an international health foundation.  She directed the Medicare and Medicaid programs and served in the White House as a senior adviser on health and welfare issues to President George W. Bush. Her expertise is in strategies to reform health care, with particular emphasis on Medicare, comparative effectiveness research, and military health care.  Wilensky currently is a trustee of the Combined Benefits Fund of the United Mine Workers of America, is on the Board of Regents of the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS), and the Visiting Committee of the Harvard Medical School. Wilensky is a current or former director of numerous non-profit organizations and also serves as a director on several corporate boards. Wilensky testifies frequently before Congressional committees, serves as an advisor to members of Congress and other elected officials, and speaks  internationally.
