Andrea Mayfield is a senior research director in the Health Sciences Department at NORC at the University of Chicago. Mayfield currently manages the questionnaire development and testing team for the Medicare Current Beneficiary Survey (MCBS), a national in-person, longitudinal survey of Medicare beneficiaries. She has over 10 years of experience in public health research, with expertise in questionnaire design, questionnaire testing, and management of data collection operations.
During her time at NORC, Mayfield has worked on a variety of projects, specializing in multimode data collection, establishment surveys, and hard-to-reach populations. For these projects, she has helped to develop and manage questionnaire design, questionnaire testing, and data cleaning and delivery procedures. Prior projects include: Racial and Ethnic Approaches to Community Health across the U.S. (REACH U.S.) Risk Factor Survey, the National Immunization Survey, the National Children's Study (NCS), and the First 5 LA Family Survey. She has co-authored papers and presentations on topics such as multimode survey design and the use of administrative data to reduce burden in facility data collection.
