Katie Burda is a senior research director in the Economics, Justice, and Society department. She has 20 years of experience working in survey research for government, academic, and non-profit agencies with a focus on managing data collection for web, phone, and field studies. Burda has a wide variety of survey research skills including instrument development, technical specifications, data collection monitoring, data delivery and reporting, and staff and budget oversight.
Her expertise includes managing staff, supporting data collection from large field projects to small web surveys, developing and implementing field interviewer training programs, designing respondent outreach strategies, and testing data collection and case management applications.
Burda has a master’s degree in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago and a bachelor’s degree in US History from Northwestern University. Prior to NORC, Burda worked as a senior project coordinator for the Center on Outcomes Research and Education at NorthShore University HealthSystem with an emphasis on health-related quality of life and instrument validation.
Burda has presented on a variety of topics related to her survey research experience at trade conferences such as MAPOR and the International Field Directors and Technology Conference.
