NORC has been awarded a contract from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Center for Injury Prevention and Control, to support the development of three unique questionnaires to collect data on the definitions and prevalence rates of sexual violence victimization. NORC will partner with TKC Integration Systems, an Alaska Native management firm to conduct cognitive interviewing of African Americans, Hispanics, and Alaska Natives/American Indians.
NORC will conduct 600 in-person interviews with women in these populations. The three year study will build on findings about violence against women in minority communities which emerged from the National Violence Against Women (NVAW) Survey conducted in 1995-96.
