Health Economics of Artificial Pancreas Technology

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is conducting a health economics study of continuous glucose sensing and insulin delivery technologies, known as the artificial pancreas. The study is designed as a companion piece to clinical studies in order to provide sound empirical evidence on the potential costs and benefits of this new technology. Findings from this study will provide evidence to inform decisions regarding benefits from, and coverage and reimbursement for, the new continuous glucose monitoring technology. The NORC team will work closely with clinicians and researchers at the University of Chicago's Division of Biological Sciences and the Center for Health and the Social Sciences.
