NORC is examining the labor market experiences of younger veterans who have recently exited the military. The Labor Market Outcomes for Veterans project, a task under NORC's master ordering agreement with the US Department of Labor, Employment & Training Administration, is conducted for the Department of Labor's Veterans Employment and Training Service. It relies on analysis of data from the NORC-conducted NLSY97.

The project examined the labor market outcomes of veterans (including reserve component National Guard service) at one, six, and twelve months after their exit from the military. That portion of the project was completed in mid-November 2006.  A more detailed report on veterans' employment experiences will follow shortly. 

In the spring of 2007, a second analytical report will describe and analyze the dynamics of labor market outcomes for all veterans at the same time points.
