NORC has been selected by the Banco de España (the Central Bank of Spain) to conduct the third round of the Survey of Household Finances in 2008. The "Encuesta Financiera de las Familias" (EFF) will be conducted via a computer assisted personal interview (CAPI) with 7,000 households, including an oversampling of wealthy households.
The survey is similar to the U.S. Federal Reserve Board’s Survey of Consumer Finances, which has been conducted by NORC since 1993. The EFF 2008 includes a longitudinal, or panel, sample component, unlike the U.S. survey. Conducted entirely in Spanish by an experienced field staff managed by NORC’s Spanish subcontractor under the direction of NORC's international and economics departments, the survey is the sole source of household level data of its kind in Spain
