NORC received one of the first contracts awarded by the newly constituted The Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission (MACPAC) to inform and assist in the development of MACPAC’s initial reports to the Congress in March and June 2011.
NORC conducted analyses of the suitability of various national household surveys to provide information at the state level about access to care for Medicaid and CHIP beneficiaries; developed compendia of questions in both household and provider surveys that relate to access; documented states’ efforts to use administrative data to improve Medicaid and CHIP program operations; and prepared MACPAC’s Congressional reports; and is developing the MACPAC policy and research agenda for the upcoming year.
