On this project, NORC is teaming with IMPAQ International and the National Association of State Mental Health Program Directors to provide technical and analytic assistance to CMS for the design, implementation, and monitoring of the 3‐year Medicaid Emergency Psychiatric Demonstration which provides Federal matching funds to participating states for emergency psychiatric care in private psychiatric hospitals with 17 or more beds, for Medicaid recipients aged 21 to 64 who have expressed suicidal or homicidal thoughts or gestures and are determined to be dangerous to themselves or others.
