The In Focus 2018 Study is a new survey assessing the views and opinions of people in their communities. NORC at the University of Chicago (NORC) is conducting this study. We are an objective non-partisan research institution that delivers reliable data and rigorous analysis to guide critical programmatic, business, and policy decisions. Your address was scientifically selected at random from among all voters living in your state. We rely on your participation so that our research represents people like you who have not been selected to take part.
We are asking a select group of registered voters about issues facing the state they live in. By taking our survey, participants’ views will represent their community. The survey provides a way for them to have a voice in policies and affect changes where they live. Our goal is for at least 2,000 registered voters in each state to complete the survey so that all areas of the state they represent are in the study. Participants will receive $25 after completing the survey. Without their opinions, participants and people living in their communities will not have their voices heard by the state and other decision makers.
How long will the survey take?
The In Focus 2018 survey should take no more than 20 minutes and can be completed online or by telephone. Participation is easy and voluntary.
Each participant may decide whether they would like to decline to participate in any portion of the study and may opt not to answer one or more questions. All answers and collected data remain confidential; results will be reported for large groups and will not contain names or other information that identifies participants. If you have been asked to take part and have any questions or concerns about your rights as a research participant, please contact the In Focus Study committee by calling (877) 431-4348 and reference the In Focus 2018 Study or email InFocus@norc.org.
