Evaluation of Career Planning Services on Graduate Students in the Humanities

NORC is conducting a formative evaluation of the Professional Advancement and Training for Humanities Scholars (PATHS) program at the University of Chicago. PATHS is an NEH-funded initiative that prepares UChicago Ph.D. students in the humanities and humanistic social sciences for diverse careers. PATHS programs and resources help participants chart a course for their professional training toward jobs in academia, industry, nonprofits, and government. Implemented by UChicagoGRAD, PATHS features workshops, internship opportunities, conversations with alumni, career advising, fellowship advising, writing and oral skills advising, and training in the public and digital humanities. NORC is interviewing Humanities faculty, staff, and graduate students to assess which elements of the PATHS program are working and what could be improved.
