College Board ACES

The College Board contracted with NORC to build, support, host and maintain a portal
(Admitted Class Evaluation Service™ ACES) which College Board will own to produce ACCUPLACER, AP, CLEP, and SAT admission and/or placement validity reports to postsecondary institutions, states, and higher education systems. The ACES system will also provide retention and completion reports to institutions. The overarching goal of ACES is to compliment the use of College Board assessments and reinforce the appropriate use of those assessments. To achieve that goal, NORC is transforming the legacy ACES™ into an integrated data and research services tool and validity study service using a unique combination of new and emerging technologies. Educational institutions use ACCUPLACER®, Advanced Placement® (“AP®”), College Level Examination Program (“CLEP®”), and SAT® exams (including Subject Tests) to assist in the admission and/or placement processes. The statistical reports returned through the system include a 508 compliant PDF along with an HTML report with interactive graphics. The customized reports are produced and returned within 20 business days. The new system helps institutions go one step further to gather that necessary evidence and use it to make more informed decisions using scores from College Board assessments to promote positive student and institutional outcomes. The new platform also provides an easy to use secure file exchange as a secure way to receive files from institutions for College Board additional research projects/needs and return files that have been appended to in a secure manner to institutions – without necessarily having the intermediate step of producing a customized report for the institution.
