Environmental Health Program

In January 2011, NORC formed the Environmental Health Program, which is intended to address critical issues on the natural and built environment and its relation to human health.

It is led by experts in environmental health research and is housed within the Public Health Research Department, drawing from NORC’s long history of excellence in survey design, statistics, policy, economics, data collection, program evaluation, and information technology.

The Environmental Health Program performs a variety of research projects, including: design and implementation of survey and measurement studies; development and application of tools and methods for environmental and health improvements, assessments, and program evaluation; and objective interpretation of environmental, health, and social science data using advanced analytic methods.  We also collaborate across disciplines to address environmental health issues through a multi-faceted and comprehensive approach.  Research areas in environmental health include health and risk assessment, exposure assessment, environmental justice, sustainability, climate change, program evaluation and support.
