From May 15 to 18, 2014, the American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR) hosts their 69th Annual Conference in Anaheim, California at the Anaheim Marriot. This year’s theme is “Measurement and the Role of Public Opinion in a Democracy.”
Presenters will explore big data and how it can be scientifically evaluated and look at big government data such as the American Community Survey to see how government is adapting to the new environment. There will be panels and papers on issues affecting Americans today, among them the economy, immigration, healthcare and the Affordable Healthcare Act, LGBT issues, and race and ethnicity. Many of these issues have global applications. In keeping with long-standing AAPOR tradition, the 2014 conference will be rich with discussion on the shaping of public opinion and the consequences for individuals and collectives. Presentations will address all aspects of survey research methodology.
NORC is a platinum sponsor of AAPOR’s 2014 conference and scores of NORC experts will be chairing, organizing, presenting and participating in sessions throughout the conference.
