Study Shows You Don't Have to be Smart to be Rich

April 25, 2007 - Jay Zagorsky of the Center for Human Resource Research (CHRR) at The Ohio State University published an analysis of data from the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth 1979 (NLSY79), in which he examined the relationship between wealth (accumulated assets) and IQ.  According to news reports in the Wall Street JournalScientific American, the Washington Times, News-Medical.net, the Columbus Dispatch (OH), Fox News, CBC News Manitoba (Canada) and iTNews (Australia), being smart does not necessarily lead to being wealthy.  The analysis found little correlation between the two.

NORC works with CHRR and the Bureau of Labor Statistics to conduct the survey and NORC collects the data.
