States Use NIS Data to Understand Vaccination Rates

The September 11, 2007 edition of Medical News Today reported on a Texas program to immunize more of its children.  Another website, eMaxHealth cited NIS data as it applies to Washington State, which has seen its immunization rates rise. The Parsons Sun (Kansas) published an August 30, 2007 editorial noting that the state's immunization rate is slipping. The same troubling finding was published by wibw.com, a Kansas news station.  All of these news sources got their data from the National Immunization Survey, which NORC conducts for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
