An American Enterprise Institute (AEI) short publication by scholar Nicholas Everstadt cites the residential energy consumption survey (RECS) as one three critical sources of information on U.S. housing conditions and home appliances. NORC conducted the RECS survey for the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration in 2005.
