Education, Health Top US Spending Priorities
Reuters and Newswise ran stories on January 11, 2007 about Americans' opinions on spending priorities. The data come from the 2006 General Social Survey. The survey reported that the top areas in which Americans said the government is spending too little are education, health, assistance to the poor, the environment, social security, dealing with drug addiction, and halting crime.
