The Globe and Mail (Canada) interviewed NORC senior fellow Norman Bradburn about U.S. efforts to create a set of indicators for the humanities and social sciences, similar to those that exist for math, science and engineering. The June 18, 2007 story told of Canada's beginning efforts to measure the value of humanities.
Bradburn heads the research team for the Humanities Indicators Project, which ultimately will create 77 measures of the impact of humanities education in the U.S. The project is sponsored by the American Academy of Arts ands Sciences, with funding from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
