Cohen has designed sampling and estimation procedures for a large number of complex surveys including general population surveys, establishment surveys (e.g., surveys of schools, businesses, etc.), and surveys of special populations (e.g., surveys of college graduates, racial and ethnic minorities). Leitz is the former CEO of MNsure, the state-based health insurance marketplace serving the state of Minnesota where he oversaw the enrollment of more than 500,000 Minnesotans in the MNsure program. Lietz focused his efforts on improving the customer experience, enhancing the functionality of the state’s website, and expanding marketing strategies used to promote it. Leitz stepped down from his role at MNsure in 2015, spending several months with the Washington DC-based Health Care Cost Initiative immediately before joining NORC. More

O’Grady, is a Senior Fellow in the Health Care department where he concentrates on health policy research and analysis for public and private non-profit organizations.  His current NORC research includes serving as principal investigator for the cost-effective component of a multi-year clinical trial.  The trial is part of the development of an artificial pancreas for the treatment of diabetes.  Other work at NORC includes the development of policy options for the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for an expanded federal role in the development of a national health information exchange; the assessment of new developments in health insurance benefit design and cost sharing.  Part of O’Grady’s role as a Senior Fellow at NORC involves service beyond specific research projects. Patricia Ruggles has worked throughout her career to improve the quality of the economic and social statistics used for research and policy analysis. She has been involved in the development of methods for analyzing longitudinal data sets since the 1980s, when she was a researcher at the Urban Institute. She was an early user of the Survey of Income and Program Participation (SIPP), using it to create integrated longitudinal files for the analysis of income and poverty spells over time. She served on the National Academy of Sciences Panel to evaluate the SIPP in 1989 and 1990. More

She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Health, Behavior and Society at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She also holds secondary appointments in the Departments of Epidemiology and Oncology.  Her primary research focus has been on designing, implementing and evaluating tobacco control and smoking cessation programs. She directed the project to create and evaluate Smoke-Free Johns Hopkins Hospital as well as instituting the Johns Hopkins Inpatient Smoking Cessation Service for hospitalized patients. More.

Prior to coming to Carnegie Mellon University, he taught in the economics departments at Miami University and the University of Texas at Austin.
