Location Effects

Business researchers are beginning to explore the spatial patterns of exchange: the geographic and industry spaces that influence the flow of information about potential investment opportunities and help determine where venture capital investments are made. Several scholars within the Data Enclave are drawing on the Kauffman Firm Survey (KFS) to study the spatial allocation of funding for new ventures and opportunities for high-tech employment, and some are analyzing the broader impact that these location effects have on regional economic development.
