Economics, Labor, and Population Studies

The Economics, Labor, and Population department is the institutional home of NORC’s large-scale flagship surveys covering a wide range of factors that contribute to the nation’s economic and social life.  It is the institutional home of the Society of Labor Economists and cosponsors (with the University of Chicago Press) the Journal of Labor Economics.

Special Capabilities

In addition to NORC's core capabilities, the Department has special expertise in processing administrative data, such as high school transcripts, as well as analyzing such administrative records as Unemployment Insurance wage records and foster care records.  The Department also has expertise in collecting data from individuals with disabilities.
